CORE MATERIAL Radixray aprons come in 2 options; Lead-Free and Standard Lead. Our durable, lightweight core materials are made from the highest quality raw materials and latest manufacturing methods available. Additionally, our new polymer, and our radiation aprons beat out the competition in flexibility, durability, and light-weight advantage, as well as pricing, thanks to our all-in-house compact manufacturing process.
FABRICS AND AUXILIARY MATERIALS Cover fabrics used for our products include two types. As a standard, we use nylon fabrics all OEKO certified and tested for harmful to health substances. Nylon fabrics are durable but not so easy to clean. Optionally, we offer to our customers our polyurethane fabrics that have antimicrobial and antifungal properties. As well, polyurethane covered fabrics are very easy to clean, simply with a sponge and warm water. PU fabrics we use are manufactured by DARTEX (UK) and have a reputable trust for medical manufacturers. All hook and loops used in our products are supplied by VELCRO (Italy) and guaranteed for 10,000 times usage. Buckles used in all aprons are supplied by YKK, leading manufacturer of textile auxiliaries, and all accessories are made from durable 6.6 nylon and tested against harmful-to-health substances.

BILAYER TECHNOLOGY FOR LEADFREE RADIATION PROTECTION Traditional Lead-free and Lead composite products, containing lower atomic weight metals, such as Antimony, can’t match the performance of traditional Lead products only by itself due to the K-edge effect and resulting fluorescence at key levels of keV within scatter radiation. These materials can only pass old standards when tested between 80kV-100kV using narrow beam geometry that fails to detect the secondary radiation created by fluorescence, inevitably resulting in an increase in the absorbed dose to the body. This test procedure is not able to detect the K-edge effectively that is created by using low atomic weight elements only.
Bilayer Technology used in our leadfree products that contain Antimony and Bismuth with approved ratios are tested and certified for attenuation and Sb equivalence approved by the National Physical Laboratory (NPL) in the UK and Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt in Germany, against a full range of kV (50kV to 150kV) using broad beam geometry. Bilayer Technology performs in accordance with all major standards, including IEC 61331-1:2014 and DIN 6857-1, providing users upmost x-ray protection while lowering the weight of the apron up to 40% compared to traditional lead aprons
